  • 45 DCF Hours

  • 10 In-Service DCF Hours

  • CPR & AED Certification

  • CDA or Degree in education a plus

  • English

  • Spanish a plus

HOURS:

Monday to Friday Full-time position year-round / 40 hours per Week

Monday to Friday Part-time position year-round

Preschool Teachers

  • Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of students.

  • Observes all rules and regulations at AWOD and the local, state, or national regulatory agencies regarding the health, safety, and care of the students.

  • Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.

  • Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule following the AWOD® curriculum and programming.

  • Plans with a member of the Leadership Team the parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.

  • Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.

  • Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.

  • Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common-use areas, and playgrounds.

  • Attends all required staff meetings, workshops, and/or school functions.

  • Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the AWOD Employee Handbook

  • Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines are necessary. 

Desired skills and experience: 

  • Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency

  • Previous infant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program 

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children, child safety, and potential emergency situations.

Preschool Art Teacher


DUTIES:

  1. Responsible for maintaining a safe and fun environment for young children, from 3 months to 12 years.

  2. Develop creative teaching methods and use teaching materials to meet the diverse needs and interests of children within artistic activities.

  3. Observe, evaluate and control the performance, behavior, and progressive social development of children.

  4. Prepare reports on the activities carried out by the students in charge, whenever requested 5- Collaborate in the development, evaluation, and revision of preschool programs, including the artistic area.

  5. Develop a schedule for children to keep throughout the day.


REQUIREMENTS:

Associate’s in Arts or Related

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Microsoft Excel and Outlook

HOURS:

Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm / 40 hours per Week
