Communication

 

Good communication is of the utmost importance. When a new family is accepted into our center, we like to be sure that we can share openly about any concerns or questions that may arise. It is important that there is a similar childcare philosophy between the center and the parents. We welcome questions, feedback, or discussions of any kind that are oriented towards a positive outcome for the child(ren). Sensitive issues will be discussed in private at a mutually beneficial time. 

Tuition

 

The enrollment packet must be completed and in our possession before we can assume the responsibility of caring for your child. This is to ensure that your child will get the very best care possible and satisfies the recordkeeping requirement of state licensing guidelines. All forms will be reviewed annually. If there are changes to any of the forms in the enrollment packet, it is the parent's responsibility to notify the main office. If you have any questions regarding the completion of these forms, please feel free to contact the main office and speak to the Director or Assistant Director. 


Registration Fee: There is a Non-RefundableNon-Transferable registration and materials fee per family at the time of enrollment. Any circumstances that may lead to re-enrolling a child during the same school year will require a new registration form and full registration fee.

Last Week Security Deposit: A security deposit in the amount equal to one week’s childcare will be assessed to all new accounts as the last week of care security deposit. This payment may be made in installments but must be paid in full within 30 days of enrolling

Enrollment Policy

 

Your specific rates will be outlined in your Contract and Rate Agreement. Tuition fees are payable either in full weekly by the end of the day on Tuesday starting on the first week of attendance. Monthly tuition can be paid in full on the 2nd day of each month and a discount will be applied. Full School year tuition can be paid in full at the start of the school year and a discount will be applied. Payment can be made by check, by credit card, debit card, or bank account. American Express is not accepted. When paying by check, please note your child’s name in the memo section. There will be a $30 late fee on weekly tuition for failure to pay by noon on Wednesday, and a $50 late fee for monthly tuition for failure to pay by noon on the third day of the month. Repeated late payments may be grounds for termination and parents who are more than 2 weeks late on a payment will be denied childcare until the account is made current.

NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS ARE GIVEN FOR ANY FAMILY VACATIONS, MOVING OR ANY OTHER INTERRUPTIONS IN ATTENDANCE. If your child is unable to attend due to sickness, you must provide a doctors note (no copies) and A World of Discovery will credit your account 1/2 tuition (child must be absent all week) NO EXCEPTIONS

We ask you to consider how you would feel if your employer came to you on your expected payday and told you that your paycheck would be delayed? The success of our center depends upon the prompt payment of tuition/fees in order to take care of day-to-day expenses.

 

Returned Check Fees

 

All returned checks shall incur a charge as set forth in Florida Statute 68.064 of $50.00. If two returned checks or two declined credit cards are received, all future payments must be made by; certified check or cashier’s check. Replacement payment for all returned checks must be made in CASH. In addition, upon the second returned check within 6 months, only cash will be accepted for 3 months.

Late Pickup Fees

 

A fee of $20.00 for the first 15 minutes and $1.00 per minute after will be charged to the account for late pick up after scheduled enrollment hours or closing hours of the school. • FULL TIME: 6:30 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.• PART TIME: 7:30 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. • VPK ONLY: 8:30 A.M. - 11:00 P.M.

Arrival and Departures

DROP-OFF TIME SHOULD BE NO LATER THAN 9:30 A.M. to ensure my child is ready to follow their daily learning schedule and to avoid disrupting the class when it has already started. If the child is dropped off during Circle Time, the child will stay in the office until circle time is over. If you plan to arrive late due to a doctors appointment or any other emergency, please call the front desk to notify staff of late arrival.
IN SUCH CASE PLEASE DROP-OFF YOUR CHILD BEFORE 12 P.M. TO AVOID INTERRUPTING NAP TIME

Children are to arrive clean and fed (unless arriving just before meal time). We will try our best to send your child home with a clean diaper and would appreciate the same consideration when you drop off.

It is normal for some children to have
difficulty separating from parents, or cry when dropping off. Please make your drop off brief, the longer you prolong the departure, the harder it gets. A smile, cheerful good-bye kiss, and a reassuring word that you will be back is all that is needed. In my experience, children are nearly always quick to get involved in play or activities as soon as parents are gone. 

Please be brief at pick-up times, as well. When two different authority figures are present (the parent and the provider). All children will test to see if the rules still apply. During arrival and departure, we expect parents to back up our rules. Please be in control of your child during pick up times.

Please leave your cell phones in your car so that the director, teachers and your child will have your undivided attention at pick up or drop off time.
